A simple, free woodworking plan. A complete step-by-step guide to building a small Spice Rack for use in your kitchen.

Fun Project For Hobbyist Woodworkers With Minimal Tools and Experience

This small spice rack is a very practical and easy-to-build project for novice woodworkers. Little to no power tools are required. I built it with a hand saw, a hammer, panel pins/brad nails, and some glue. I opted to spray paint it as I thought this looked better and gave it a cleaner finish.

If you purchase the correct lumber thickness and width you can simply cut the wood to the exact length. The Spice Rack can hold 6-8 spice jars depending on the size of the jars. This is a great gift idea if money is tight as the wood needed will only set you back a few dollars. You can even build it out of scrap or pallet wood you might have lying around the house.

 

 

 

TIP: The upright wooden support that prevents the spices from falling out can be put flush with the base or can be slightly elevated. The flush finish allows for easier access to the spices and also allows you to read the name on the jar better.

 

 

 

NOTE! Plans are made available in METRIC and IMPERIAL but were designed and built in METRIC using METRIC standard sizes. The plans were then converted directly to IMPERIAL measurements.
