Please note that the plan is based around a specific Handheld Belt sander and is not a universal Belt Sander Holder. It is based on the Bosch PBS 75A

As our skill sets expand, so does our desire for new tools to make our lives easier. My belt sander was one of the first tools I acquired when I started woodworking. I had contemplated getting a combined belt and disk sander that would mount to my workbench, the drawback being that it would be permanently fixed. If i went this route, I would still need my belt sander for sanding larger items. I had the realisation that I didn’t need a new sander. I just needed to make my sander into a multi-use tool; I needed to maximise its potential. I looked at the gap that I had, sanding smaller pieces and rounding corners were the 2 main things that I was struggling with. As well as maintaining safe control of my work pieces. Hand-held belt sanders are very heavy-duty machines and lack finer control. My solution was to mount my sander to a wall or bench, along with a fence, giving me the ability to handle the smaller pieces of material that the belt sander would otherwise not be able to. The ability to use the Belt Sander by hand when needed means that i am not hindered by having excessive tools gathering dust in my small shop, where space is extremely limited.
