A Free 3D Printer file (STL) and Installation guide
This is a free 3D printer file in STL format that I created for the secure and convenient mounting of my AS and ASM series Stabila spirit levels.
As we all know, spirit levels are very sensitive pieces of equipment and need to be stored correctly to ensure that they don’t get damaged or become inaccurate. Part of the inspiration behind the design was for tradesmen who have to transport their spirit levels in a vehicle and need somewhere secure to store them. Keeping them mounted and ensuring they have a dedicated space keeps these invaluable pieces of equipment safe and visible. No more scratching around trying to find your level, or having it bash around in the back of your van.
Below is a small step-by-step instruction to assist in the assembly of the Stabila Spririt level Holders
The zip file will contain three STL files, one for each component. The spring will need to be purchased separately-
The Spring size is as follows. 12.5mm Inside Diameter, 15.8mm Outside Diameter and 50mm Overall Length.
Once the parts have been successfully printed, assembly can begin. The assembly is very straightforward and is best done on a flat surface. The spring should initially be inserted into the main body. The yellow follower will then be inserted until the tabs on the side clip into the guide rail.
Once the unit has been assembled, it is ready to be mounted. The easiest way to mount the holders accurately is to install the fixed end first, then insert the level that you wish to mount and add the spring-loaded main body. It is very important that the main body is mounted so that the spring is not under tention.
